Situation
Many systems and processes in the workflow required the same data to be entered more than once.
Task
Providing a solution for end-to-end communications across smart technologies of disparate systems was key.
Action
The goal was achieved using a mixture of off-the-shelf tools and complementary bespoke code using the following technologies: Enfocus Switch Workflow Tool, C# and SQL stored procedures, views and functions.
Result
Workflow improvements and integration of systems allowed data to flow from the web down to manufacturing machines providing a means for customers to create and authorise production of their products without the normal back and forth communications over emails. Instigation to manufacturing reduced from at least a day to 2hrs 30mins.
