Situation
Structural Engineers are required to provide CAD drawings over and over again for standard products with only minor variations. This would take a significant part of their working day liaising with Account Managers and Customers in order to verify the brief.
Task
Remove the requirement for a Structural Engineer to provide CAD drawings for standard products. A user-friendly SLU Web Portal allows the users (account managers / customers) to design their own Point-of-Sales display units and therefore - makes placing the order easy and accurate.
Action
The goal was achieved by creating a bespoke SLU Portal. The SLU Portal was developed using C# .NET MVC, jQuery, SVG, SQL Server.
Result
Providing the SLU Web Portal removed the need for a Structural Engineer to create the CAD drawings. Drawing production was reduced from approx. 3 hrs. to 10 min.
